He was elected four consecutive times to the Allegheny County Council, and was the chair of the Allegheny County Council Parks Committee, Public Safety Committee, and was Chairman of the city of Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Joint Commission on Public Safety. He also served as a member of the Southwest Planning Commission regarding transportation planning. In 2010, he was asked to be a member of Governor-elect Tom Corbett’s Transition Team on Local Government. He served previously as Sales Manager for a major consumer company, with more than 28 years of sales and marketing experience.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and attended a Continuing Education Certificate Program at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the University of Pittsburgh’s Alumni Club and serves as a member of the University’s Fiscal Policy and Governance Committee through the Institute of Politics.
He and his wife live in Bethel Park and have four children and two grandchildren.
