Vincent J. Gastgeb joined the Commission in 2012. He is employed as the Vice-President of Government & Corporate Affairs for the Allegheny County Airport Authority which maintains and operates Pittsburgh International Airport as well as Allegheny County Airport. Vince is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has over 25+ years in both the private sector as a sales and marketing professional and the public sector within government affairs.
He is a Board Member for the Pennsylvania State Aviation Council, Military Affairs Council of Western PA, University of Pittsburgh's Fiscal Policy & Governance Committee through the Institute of Politics, Co-Chair of the Airport Chamber of Commerce Governmental Committee & an appointed member through the Secretary of Commerce for the U.S. Commercial Service Western PA District Export Council.
He was elected to four consecutive terms to the Allegheny County Council serving as a Councilman and ranking member for 14 years on the County's Finance Committee. He also served as a member of the Southwest Planning Commission regarding transportation planning. In 2010, he was asked to be a member of Governor-elect Tom Corbett's Transition Team on Local Government.
He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the University of Pittsburgh's Alumni Club.
Mr. Gastgeb was unanimously confirmed by the PA State Senate and as a new Commissioner immediately developed financial awareness outreach and advocacy programs for senior citizens and veterans.
He and his wife live in Bethel Park and have four adult children and three grandchildren.
