Julia Brinjac, Deputy Policy Director


Julia Brinjac serves as Deputy Policy Director for the department, analyzing policy and legislative issues and maintaining the department's policy objectives. She works on myriad issues in the policy arena, including marijuana-related business and banking, the Next Generation Bankers Academy program, and project managing the department's new "Women and Finance" initiative.

Brinjac joined the department in 2017. She previously served as Policy Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, Legislative Specialist with the Pennsylvania Senate, Adjunct Professor at Harrisburg Area Community College, and was the Pennsylvania Public Policy Coordinator with the Alzheimer's Association. She is a member of the Dream Team of the Women's Fund after previously serving on their Marketing and Events Committee.

She earned her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. 


 

Virginia Lucy, Deputy Communications Director


Virginia Lucy has served as the department's Deputy Communications Director since 2017. Her work involves researching, writing, and distributing internal and external communications, creating and maintaining social media and other online content, assisting with media outreach and events, and serving as event photographer.

Lucy previously served as Director of Information Services with Pennsylvania Legislative Services and worked in government relations with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, in addition to experience in book publishing and immigration law.

She earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in English and Anthropology from the University of Virginia and a law degree from Pennsylvania State University – The Dickinson School of Law.
