Robin L. Wiessmann, Secretary of Banking and Securities


Robin L. Wiessmann has served as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities since 2015. Previously, she served as Pennsylvania's treasurer and as Philadelphia's deputy director of finance, and had a long career in commercial banking, investment banking and regulatory matters.

Wiessmann serves as chair of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency board and as a member of 11 other economic development, policy and supervisory boards. She also serves as chair of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors' Non-Depository Supervisory Committee and on the Federal Legislation and Fintech committees of the North American Securities Administrators Association.

Wiessmann graduated from Lafayette College and earned a law degree from Rutgers University, from which she received the Arthur E. Armitage Sr. Distinguished Alumni Award.

John Wetzel, Secretary of Corrections


John Wetzel has served as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections since January 2011. He has presided over the state's first prison-population reduction in more than four decades, as well as a restructuring of the community corrections and mental health systems and a re-engineering of internal departmental processes.

Wetzel is chair of the executive board of the Council of State Government's Justice Center and president of the Association of State Correctional Administrators. A member of Harvard University's Executive Session on Community Corrections, he is a graduate of Bloomsburg University and holds honorary doctorates from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Chestnut Hill College.
